Coppergate Clinic

Coppergate Clinic are a boutique private hospital for plastic surgery and advanced aesthetics, based in the centre of York, North Yorkshire.

The clinic is home to some of the country’s leading consultant plastic surgeons who work alongside a team of medical specialists. They offer a comprehensive plastic surgery practice for breast, abdomen, body and face procedures.

We were approached to put together an advertising campaign for the clinic to raise awareness of their brand and services to people of York and surrounding areas. They were particularly keen to hit people in the city centre as this is where they are located. York is a heritage city and has a lot of advertising restrictions in place. Therefore, there was only one option we recommended. This was a bus advertising campaign.

There are two main bus fleets in York. The main First bus fleet covers all areas of York and is used mainly by locals. The second one is the Park and Ride fleet which run from five main locations on the outskirts of the city. These are Askham Bar, Grimston Bar, Rawcliffe Bar, Monks Cross and York Designer Outlet. All buses across both fleets run directly through the city centre and as such, are perfect advertising options.

We looked at the different bus advertising options, including full bus wraps, and put forward our proposals. Our main issue was availability due to high demand on this form of advertising in York. Ultimately, the client decided to run a series of 4 x 4 week Lower Rear campaigns on the Park and Ride fleet spread across Spring and Summer 2024.

We advised on the best design style for the advert, keep it simple, keep it visual! The client took this on board and so far has had three different designs for the first three campaigns and no doubt will alter for the fourth campaign stating in September.

This has proved to be an inspired decision. The great thing with bus advertising is should there be any over show after each campaign finishes, your advert stays up until it is replaced by a new client campaign. This happened for Coppergate Clinic between campaign 1 and campaign 2 meaning both adverts were running across the Park and Ride fleet, increasing the visibility of the campaign.

To date, the client has been delighted with the campaign and hopefully will repeat this again in 2025.
