RAIL STATION ADVERTISING MEDIA PLANNING AND BUYING ACROSS THE UK
Captive audiences. Guaranteed attention.
Rail stations are busy hubs for commuters and travellers alike, with dwell times that other Out of Home formats simply can't match. Whether someone is buying a ticket, waiting for a train or walking through to the platform, your message is right there with them, day after day.
Advertising opportunities are available across the station concourse, in ticket and waiting rooms, on platforms and in the tunnels leading to them. The larger mainline stations offer a mix of Classic paper billboards and digital screens, while smaller stations typically have a handful of Classic paper sites.
At CG Advertising we can help you navigate through the complexities and choose the most effective locations for your business.
Frequently Asked Questions:
A - Like all advertising opportunities, it depends. There are many factors to consider before we can put forward a campaign that suits your requirements. A campaign in a single local station will cost less than several stations across a region. If you are looking at dominating a major mainline hub, then this again will cost significantly more than choosing a more local rail station.
Also, we need to factor in whether the bus stop is a Classi paper or digital version as these are priced differently.
A - Absolutely. However, not all rail stations carry advertising opportunities so we need to work out the most relevant ones for your campaign and then work around the availability of each site. All opportunities at rail station sites are sold on a first come, first served basis, so planning as far ahead as possible is always recommended.
A - A Classic paper site is booked in multiples of 2 weeks and carries a single printed poster, which will be the only advert seen on that site for the duration of the campaign. A digital screen is the same idea but runs in rotation with other advertisers. Because the advert is uploaded rather than printed, digital campaigns are quicker to set up and easier to change, making them a more flexible option, particularly at the larger mainline stations where digital screens are more widely available.
High Impact
Rail stations put your message in front of thousands of commuters and travellers on a daily basis. It is seen in the concourse, ticket and waiting rooms, on platforms and in the tunnels leading to them. Rail passengers are a captive audience with time on their hands, giving your message the best possible chance of being seen and remembered.
Longevity of Message
Commuters travel through the same station on the same route, day in, day out. Rail advertising works around the clock, whatever the time of their journey. Dwell times at rail stations vary so this Out of Home format allows long enough for a strong, simple message to properly sink in.
Cannot miss it
All opportunities are located in high volume locations. They are seen in station concourses, in passenger walkways leading to the platforms, on the platform and even rail side so passengers on the train get to see your advert.
Get results
A visually creative design, combined with a simple and single call to action, will get you noticed. This drives traffic to your website, increases enquiries and builds awareness that keeps your business front of mind. It's no coincidence that 95 of the UK's top 100 advertisers include Out of Home as part of their marketing strategy. If it's right for them, it's right for your business too.
