OUTDOOR ADVERTISING MEDIA PLANNING AND BUYING ACROSS THE UK
Hard to miss. Hard to forget
Out of Home is one of the fastest growing media formats in the UK for a good reason.
Out of Home, also known as OOH, reaches people where they live, work, shop and travel. It cannot be scrolled past or switched off and is seen by thousands of people every day. It builds awareness and keeps your business front of mind.
Most people think OOH is just the large roadside billboards, but it includes many other formats such as bus shelters, shopping centres, railway stations and phone kiosks.
You can choose between the classic paper sites or have the flexibility of digital screens.
This is why 95 of the UK’s top 100 advertisers include OOH advertising as part of their marketing strategy.
Frequently Asked Questions:
A - As always, it depends, as there are many factors to consider before we can put forward a campaign that suits your requirements.
A campaign targeting a town will cost less than one covering a city or a region.
A - The simple answer is yes. However, we need to work around the availability of these to ensure you can get the options you want at the time you want them. All OOH options are sold on a first come first served basis so planning as far ahead as possible is always recommended.
A - The traditional, or what is known as a Classic paper billboard is bought in multiples of 2 weeks and has a single paper poster. The poster will last for up to 6 weeks before it would need to be refreshed or replaced. Your message will be the only one seen on that billboard for the duration of the booking.
A digital billboard is the same size as a Classic billboard, but it runs slightly differently. Your advert will be in rotation with other advertisers for the duration of the campaign. There are several different rotations available, depending on the media operator but the main ones are a 1 or 2 minute rotation. With a digital campaign, your advert is uploaded rather than going through the print process which makes everything significantly quicker and more flexible.

Billboard
This is one of the fastest growing media formats in the UK.
A well-positioned billboard, with a simple and striking creative builds brand familiarity and works around the clock, every day.
Billboards come in different sizes and formats. The majority are 6 x 3 metre versions, but there also larger and smaller options available.
All of these come in the classic paper format, but digital versions of most of them are also widely available.
We will help you choose the right locations, formats and campaign duration to ensure your advertising reaches the right people at the right time.
Bus stops
These are essential for anyone wanting to travel on a bus and are located at key points on all bus routes. Many of these bus stops have shelter and therefore the facility to take advertising. The panel is approximately 2 metres high by 1 metre wide with most being double sided.
Being located at key points on busy roads, makes the advertising space very visible to both pedestrians and also vehicles as they pass by.
Most of these are the Classic paper versions, but there are also digital options in many larger conurbations.
Rail stations
These are busy hubs for both commuters and general travellers with good dwell times. Most rail stations will have billboards of various sizes around the station concourse. Locations include ticket and waiting rooms, as well as platforms tunnels leading to platforms.
The larger mainline stations will have a mix of Classic paper billboards and digital screens, whilst smaller stations are likely to have a handful of Classic paper options.
Phone kiosks
These Classic paper options are all located in high volume pedestrian areas in most towns and city centres around the country. Their locations make them ideal options for any type of advertiser looking to reach people directly in a specific town or area.
Booked in multiples of 2 weeks, it allows advertisers to dominate a specific town centre. This makes them perfect options for large food companies who have shops in the towns. They know the right message will create an instant impact leading to impulse buys. If it is good enough for these companies, it is certainly a good option for yours.
Shopping Centres
Advertising in and around retail shops is a subtle and interesting way for businesses to target potential customers without them really knowing about it. Many Shopping Centres, Supermarkets and certain retail stores now have digital screens that take advertising.
Located in prime positions such as at the entrance and exits or around the centres, these are ideal options for advertisers who have stores in Centre itself.
Petrol Pumps
A subtle and simple way to reach potential customers with a long dwell time message. Not only will it take the customer about 1 minute to fill their car, but they will literally have your message in their hands.
Using a strong creative and simple call to action, you can very quickly get across your message and establish your brand.
There are also digital screen opportunities at many Shell petrol stations across the country. These screens offer creative way to specifically target customers whilst they are stood filling their car up.
